I’ve been following Emily Rea’s case closely and something has been bothering me. I grew up in West Glacier and know the area well. Hungry Horse Reservoir can be tricky, even for experienced outdoor enthusiasts. I'm wondering if the weather on July 16th played a role? It's not uncommon for sudden wind gusts to appear out of nowhere, especially in the late afternoon. Could this have contributed to her paddleboard overturning? I checked historical weather data for that day, and there was a sudden drop in temperature around 7 p.m., which might suggest unstable conditions. Not trying to speculate too much, but with so little to go on, maybe someone out there remembers something specific, like a change in the weather or unusual activity around Flossy Creek? It’s a long shot, but sometimes smaller details end up giving us the biggest clues. Keeping Emily and her family in my thoughts.
