Hey everyone,
I've been following the Kristin Smart case for some time, and I've been thinking a lot about the role of technology and media in finally bringing it to a close. It blows my mind how influential the podcasts and documentaries about Kristin's case were in reigniting interest and pushing for justice after so many years. Without this coverage, it seems like the case could have stayed cold indefinitely.
It's baffling that the support from the public and the persistence of her family seemed to outdo what the system alone couldn't resolve for decades. I just hope that in other unsolved cases, similar pushes can bring long-awaited resolutions for victims and their families.
What are your thoughts on media involvement in true crime cases? Do you think it always helps or sometimes distracts from the actual investigation process?
