I've been digging into George William McDonald's case, and something struck me as odd about the winery angle. If authorities suspected he might be in California working at a winery, why haven’t we heard more about attempts to verify this? Did anyone ever try to reach out to wineries back in the '80s or even later on, just to see if anyone remembered a new worker who fit George’s description around that time? I know it's like searching for a needle in a haystack, but maybe there were people who suddenly left around the time he disappeared. Could be worth looking into employment records or talking to long-time employees who might remember something too. Just my two cents—hoping this doesn’t stay a mystery forever.
