The found her skeletal remains in her car march of 2025 in the Fox River up in Elgin Il.

I am so thankful for the cold case unit. There have been so many cases with new or updated information. Sometimes they need to get a fresh set of eyes on the case.

Has anyone looked into the possibility of Karen's car being resold or dismantled for parts? Given that her bright yellow Toyota Celica also vanished, it seems like it could be a vital piece of the puzzle. If someone did have ill intentions, getting rid of a distinct, bright color car could be tricky unless it was either shipped out of the area, resold under different circumstances, or broken down. Also, with the VIN on file, wouldn’t it be possible for law enforcement to search DMV records from those years to see if there’s any trace of it being re-registered? It just feels like any trace of the vehicle might open a new lead in her case. Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts or additional info on this angle.
Does anyone else find it odd how Karen's bright yellow Toyota Celica just vanished without a trace? Bright yellow isn't exactly a subtle color for a car. You'd think someone would have noticed it somewhere, especially with all the attention around her disappearance back in '83. I wonder if there was any surveillance footage available from nearby businesses or if anyone canvassed the area for eyewitnesses who might've seen her driving that night. It's just strange that both Karen and her car could disappear so completely. I can't help but think there must be someone out there with even a small piece of information that hasn't surfaced yet. Thoughts?
Has anyone looked into the location and owners of the bar Karen was last seen at? Sometimes these places change hands over the years, and new owners or patrons might have heard something or have old records that could be helpful. Plus, considering she was celebrating a work promotion, there must be someone from her workplace who remembers more specific details about that night. Even conversations or interactions that seemed trivial at the time could be crucial now. It might be worth revisiting any alibis or statements gathered right after her disappearance, given how time can change perspectives. The tiniest detail could be the breakthrough this case needs.
