Does anyone have info on the regulars at Whitey's Hideaway Lounge around 1985? It seems odd that Jimmy would just vanish after such a public event, especially with $4,000 on him. I read that he was a regular at local bars and pool halls, so I'm wondering if anyone else was at the lounge that night or if there were any unusual faces in the crowd. I've also been curious if there were reports of similar incidents in the area around that time. If he was indeed targeted for the poker winnings, could it have been someone who knew his routine? I'm inclined to think there might be more to dig into around his social circle or other gamblers who might have been envious of his win. Thoughts?
I’ve always found it intriguing how Jimmy’s black 1972 Ford Torino was discovered at Fort Yargo State Park the morning after his disappearance. Given that the car was unlocked and the keys were missing, I've been pondering the possibility that whoever might have been involved knew the area well. Fort Yargo is a sprawling park with dense woods and multiple trails—potentially the perfect spot for someone familiar with it to vanish without a trace.
It's also curious why the car was left there of all places. Was it meant to be a distraction, or did something happen to Jimmy closer to the park? With the car being left unlocked, could he have left it there willingly while meeting someone he trusted? It's strange, especially considering there must have been a significant amount of cash involved from his poker winnings.
I wonder if there were any past instances of robberies or suspicious activities at Fort Yargo around that time. It might be worth checking if similar cases in the area point to a pattern or certain individuals who could be linked to such incidents. What do you all think about the significance of where the car was abandoned?
