I've been following the Stephen Smith case for a while now, and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the official narrative of a hit-and-run. It's troubling that there were no signs you'd typically expect from such an incident—no tire marks, no debris, just nothing. How can that be if someone hit him with a car? His shoes were still on and loosely tied! I've read that many residents in Hampton County have their theories, especially with all the rumors swirling around the Murdaugh family, but it makes me wonder what powerful forces might be at play here.
Also, I really feel for Stephen's family who must be going through so much without the answers they deserve. They shouldn't have to fight this hard for justice for Stephen. I'm hoping that with SLED reopening the case and now declaring it a homicide, we might finally get closer to the truth. Does anyone else think it's significant that the case was reopened in 2021, just a few years after that infamous boat accident involving the Murdaughs? It seems like so many threads are tangled up together.
