Hey everyone, I recently stumbled on the case of David Barclay Miller, and there's something that's been bugging me about the timeline of his last day. Has anyone else noticed the detail about the note he left at the Beaver Creek ranger station? Since he left his note stating he was heading to the Red Rock/Secret Mountain Wilderness Area, I can't help but wonder if perhaps he was planning to venture off the main trails, or if anyone saw him heading off in a different direction. The fact that his vehicle was found at the Vultee Arch Trail seems to confirm part of his plan, but it's been over 20 years, and we still haven't found any traces of where he went from there. Does anyone think it's likely that David had stumbled onto a hidden spot in the wilderness, given his relatively short time working as a wilderness ranger? Or perhaps knew of an area that wouldn’t be immediately obvious to search teams? Just thinking out loud here, but the wilderness has endless possibilities, and it's strange that nothing has surfaced after all this time. Any thoughts or similar cases you've come across? Stay safe out there, nature lovers!

It's always puzzling when someone vanishes without a trace, but something about David Barclay Miller's case really sticks with me. I keep thinking about the Vultee Arch Trail where his vehicle was found. Did anyone ever confirm if he actually planned to hike that specific trail, or could his car being there mean something else? We all know trails can be misleading with various offshoots and forks. Maybe someone familiar with the area can chime in on how easy it is to get lost there, or if there are any hidden spots that wouldn’t be obvious to those unfamiliar? Just trying to piece together the puzzle here. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I've been digging into David Barclay Miller's case, and I came across something interesting about his gear. It seems he was carrying a forest-green Gregory backpack when he went missing. My question to the hiking enthusiasts in the group: how durable are these packs? From what I understand, these backpacks are well-made and designed to withstand tough conditions. But would they last over 25 years if left in the wilderness? It makes me wonder, if his backpack is still out there somewhere, it might still be intact enough to find and help provide clues to his whereabouts. Has anyone in this group come across gear left in the wild after so many years, and how did it hold up? Could his backpack still be recognizable today if someone stumbled onto it? Would appreciate any input or theories you might have on this!
