Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Guy Monroe Pyke for a while and there's something that's been bugging me. So Pyke had Alzheimer's and dementia, right? That already puts him at high risk for wandering and getting lost, but what's interesting is that he had expressed a desire to travel to Florida. This makes me wonder if there's any chance he might have headed south, maybe trying to make that trip he'd talked about. It's possible he could have driven quite a distance before getting lost, given that his Blazer had a full tank of gas when he disappeared. Has anyone looked into any sightings or reports in states along the way? I know it’s been over two decades, but cases have been solved with less. Thoughts?
I was just reading up on Guy Monroe Pyke's case, and something struck me about his vehicle. It's been so many years without any trace of him or that dark blue 1989 Chevrolet Blazer. Does anyone else find it odd that no one has spotted this vehicle? Evans Mills isn't the largest town, and I would think someone would remember seeing it abandoned or crashed somewhere. Could it have been taken further than we think? Also, given that he had a full tank of gas, it makes me wonder how far he could have traveled without needing to stop again. I've seen cases where missing people were found hundreds of miles away, simply because they drove until they couldn't anymore. Just a thought, but could it be possible he drove somewhere wilderness-heavy, where searching is hard, or where the vehicle wouldn't be easily seen?
