I came across an interesting detail in Joseph Hayes' case that caught my attention. It always strikes me how certain small dynamics can be overlooked in missing persons cases. Has anyone else noticed how he was wearing beach slippers that day? Baton Rouge is not exactly the kind of place you associate with beaches. I wonder if he was planning to go somewhere specific or if it was just an odd fashion choice? Could it indicate a subtle sign of his state of mind or intentions on that day? Just seems out of place to me, and it's those little details that sometimes mean more than we think. Thoughts?

I was looking into Joseph Hayes's disappearance and find it really curious that he might have used the alias "Jerry Porter." Do aliases generally imply that someone is hiding from something or someone, or could there be a less ominous explanation? I wonder if he was trying to start a new life for some reason. Maybe there was something going on behind the scenes that hasn’t surfaced yet. Anyone have thoughts or theories on why someone would choose to live under an assumed name? Could this be a clue that’s been overlooked?
