Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about the spike in violence that took place in Philly back in 2008, and Timothy Sanders' murder on Fariston Drive keeps coming back to my mind. It's incredibly difficult for us to even grasp what his family and friends must be going through, knowing there's still so much unknown about his tragic death.
I grew up a few streets away from where it happened, and I vividly recall how the entire community was on edge during that time. It feels like the kind of thing that shouldn't be happening in our neighborhoods, and yet here we are. How do we even begin to address the broader issues that lead to such heart-wrenching losses?
For those of you familiar with the area, do you remember any community meetings or efforts that took place afterward? I wonder if any of those initiatives led to tangible changes in that neighborhood. It's just so frustrating to see story after story of lives lost with no closure.
Sending lots of thoughts and love to Timothy's family, hoping they find answers and justice soon. If anyone has updates or ways to support them, please share. They—and all who loved and lost him—deserve peace.
Take care,

Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot lately about the impact neighborhood dynamics might have had on the tragic murder of Timothy Sanders in 2008. It seems like the area around Fariston Drive could have been experiencing tensions or issues that we might not be fully aware of, especially considering the broader pattern of violence in Philadelphia that year.
I've read a bit about how differently these violent incidents can develop based on local factors, like community resources, economic stress, or even tensions between local groups. Does anyone have insights on what the neighborhood was like back in 2008? Were there any specific tensions or issues in that part of Philly that might have contributed to such tragedies?
I can't imagine the pain Timothy's family and friends are enduring, and my heart truly goes out to them. If we can learn more about what happened, maybe we can better understand and help prevent similar incidents in the future. Thanks to anyone who can shed more light on this.
Has anyone looked into the possibility that Timothy's murder might be connected to the broader violence happening in Philly during that time? I know 2008 was particularly rough, and I can't help but wonder if there was a larger issue at play on Fariston Drive. It's such a tragedy that Timothy's life was taken in such a violent way. While I'm hopeful that investigators are working on this angle, it would be a bit of comfort to hear if anyone knows whether the police considered these patterns in their investigation. Sending thoughts to his family and friends, who must be really struggling with both losing him and the lack of information around his case. Such a difficult time for them, and I hope they eventually find the answers they need.
