Hey everyone,
I've been following the Lamar Smith case from North Point Breeze, and something that's been on my mind is the involvement of hostage negotiation tactics during the standoff. I can’t imagine the stress and pressure on both sides of the situation. It's so tragic that it reached a point where lethal force became the outcome. I’m left wondering about the girlfriend's experience and the kind of trauma she must be dealing with after being caught in something so intense. It’s situations like these where I really wish there had been a way to deescalate the conflict more effectively. For Lamar's family and friends, this has to be an incredibly painful time. I genuinely hope they find some peace amid the chaos and that lessons are learned to prevent future incidents.
Curious if anyone here has more insights on how negotiations typically play out in these situations and if they’ve seen similar cases handled differently?
Stay safe, everyone.
