Has anyone else been following the Denise Smith case from 2009? I recently read about it, and it's been on my mind. What really struck me was the lack of witness cooperation, which seems to be a common hurdle in cases like these. The fear of retaliation is understandable, but it leaves families without justice and closure. I'm curious about any community efforts since then to improve trust between locals and law enforcement. Has anyone heard of initiatives or programs that have made a difference in neighborhoods like Southwest Philly? It feels like there must be a way for communities to feel safe coming forward with information that could help solve cases like Denise's. My heart goes out to her family, having to deal with such an unimaginable loss while the investigation remains unresolved.
