Bruce's disappearance has always intrigued me, especially with him being reported as wanted for desertion. I've always wondered if there's a possibility that he might have been dealing with something deeper, maybe like mental health issues or pressure that pushed him to desert. It's a detail that's often glossed over when discussions focus solely on his last known physical appearance or the ongoing NCIS investigation. If anyone on the forum has experience in the Navy or knows more about how desertion cases are typically handled, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Could there be more to it than meets the eye? If Bruce had family or friends who noticed anything different with him around the time he went missing, it could be a crucial piece of the puzzle and help us understand what might have been going on in his mind.

Has anyone looked into the possibility that Bruce might have had issues onboard that could've led him to disappear? I know the Navy can be tough, mentally and emotionally. Maybe something was going on that made him feel like vanishing was his only option? Just thinking about how sudden it all was. It's strange that even with a search and investigation, we're left with pretty much no answers. Anyone here with military experience who can shed light on what might drive someone to take such drastic steps?

I find it so odd that Bruce was officially listed as a deserter so quickly after going missing. From what I've read in similar cases, it often takes a bit more time before such a declaration is made. Could it be possible that someone aboard the ship had a grudge against him and wanted to fast-track this narrative? It just seems strange given the lack of solid evidence or sightings. Has anyone come across any stories of similar instances where someone was declared a deserter with little to no backing info? It feels like there might be more to the story that hasn’t been explored.
