Hey everyone, I just stumbled across Matthew Green’s story again and it’s so disheartening to see how another promising life ended so abruptly and with so many unanswered questions. It’s absolutely tragic that no one has been brought to justice yet. It’s a sobering reminder of the broader crisis affecting North Philly at that time, where young lives—especially those of young Black men—were being snatched away in an instant. I was wondering if anyone has been following up on the community's perspective in North Philly around that time. Were there any specific community initiatives or calls for change that emerged after such a devastating year? It makes me think how difficult it must be for Matthew’s family and others like them, waiting for answers and hoping for change. Let’s hope for progress and for more voices to come forward with information that might help bring some form of resolution. Sending thoughts to Matthew’s loved ones.
