Has anyone else looked into the possibility of maybe an animal encounter? Alfred is pretty rural with lots of woods and wildlife around. I remember reading somewhere that sometimes wild animals can pose a threat to small children. It's possible that something like that happened and left no clear trace. Or could it be that such an angle was investigated back in 1971? I'm just trying to think about what might have been missed back then compared to the kind of search techniques we have now. It’s just so puzzling and sad that someone so young could just vanish like that.

I’ve been following Douglas Chapman's case for a while now, and something that consistently strikes me is the complete lack of evidence or leads. It’s like he just vanished into thin air. One thing that always leaves a lingering question for me is the remote location of his home—how could someone have taken him without anybody noticing? It makes you wonder if there was someone familiar with the area or if it was truly a random act. Also, the fact that there's still no trail or clues after all these years is baffling. I wonder if advancements in technology could eventually help with re-analyzing some aspect of the case, but without any new physical evidence, it feels like such an uphill battle. Does anyone else feel like the isolation of the area plays a bigger role than it's credited for in terms of why no one has come forward or why there hasn't been a significant breakthrough?
