I was diving deep into Kathy Sue Wilcox’s case again, and something struck me about the time she went missing. It was right in the middle of the summer of '72. That must've made it easier for her to blend in if she was trying to hitch a ride or go with a group somewhere. Tourists would have been around, and we all know how crowded spots like Lake Michigan can get during that time of year. It makes me wonder if someone picked her up unintentionally as she was just another young person out on an adventure. If anyone has old family photos from that summer or stories about visitors during that time, maybe it’s worth taking another look? There could be clues hiding in the smallest details, especially if she didn’t plan on being gone for long. With those distinctive features of hers, a clue might just be sitting in someone’s attic waiting to be found. Thoughts?
I was reading through some old local news archives about Kathy Sue Wilcox, and something really caught my eye. The articles mentioned that Kathy had healed fractures in her legs. I can’t help but wonder if these injuries were ever looked into deeply? Could there have been incidents prior to her disappearance that might give us clues about her life or the company she was keeping? Maybe someone out there remembers why she had those fractures or knows more about what was happening in her life around that time. It might be a longshot, but even the smallest detail could shed light on what happened to her.
Does anyone else find it curious that Kathy didn’t take her money or any personal items with her when she left after the argument? It makes me wonder if she truly intended to come back initially or if there was someone or something that made her leave in a hurry without planning ahead. Given her rebellious streak, could she have thought that leaving without anything would be a way to make a bigger statement to her stepmother at the moment? It's odd because if she planned to meet up with someone, she probably would have grabbed at least the essentials. This case has stuck with me as one of those mysteries that nags at the back of your mind... what do you all think?
