Has anyone ever looked into the timeline of when Sallie's car was found abandoned near Opelousas? I'm curious about the distance and why there wasn't more immediate attention on tracing her steps between Thibodaux and there. I mean, that’s a pretty significant travel. Could she have met someone in between these points? Also, was there anything suspicious found in the car that could indicate why she stopped there? It's really puzzling how little information there is about that side of the case. I've always thought about if they did a thorough investigation around the impound lot or if they just focused on searching around Thibodaux. Would love to hear any thoughts or information others might have come across!
Has anyone looked into the route Sallie might have taken from Thibodaux to where her car was found in Opelousas? It seems like a pretty significant distance to travel, and I wonder if anyone remembers seeing her or any unusual events along that route. Looking at old maps or even trying to trace the roads she might have taken could possibly stir up something new, or maybe jog the memory of someone who was in the area at the time. I always think it's interesting how sometimes the smallest detail can lead to a breakthrough in these older cases. It'd be amazing if someone who traveled that route back in 1976 could come forward with something to help piece together what really happened.
I’ve been digging into Sallie Margaret Reed’s case from 1976, and I'm curious about the timeline of events between Thibodaux and the impounding of her car near Opelousas. It's a bit perplexing how her vehicle ended up about 100 miles away from where she was last seen. Are there any details or theories about what might have led to her car being abandoned so far from her known location? It seems unusual unless there was some connection in Opelousas that investigators might have missed. Any locals or anyone familiar with Louisiana geography have thoughts on possible routes she or someone else might have taken? Trying to piece together anything that might shed light on those missing hours or days.
