Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about David Little's case, and something that keeps sticking out to me is the role media coverage plays in these tragedies. It's hard enough to process the loss of a young life, but it feels like some cases — especially ones involving young Black men like David — don't get the attention they deserve. The broader violence crisis in Philly is undoubtedly a huge issue, but every victim has their own story, their own unfinished potential.
I can't imagine what David's family and friends are going through, grappling with the lack of answers and closure. It must be incredibly frustrating and painful to see his case folded into statistics rather than being treated as the loss of a beloved son, friend, and community member. If media outlets focused more on these individual stories, maybe there would be more public pressure to solve these cases.
Could the increased community engagement efforts be expanded to include more consistent media follow-ups on unsolved cases? It feels like keeping David's story alive in the public eye could help maintain momentum in the investigation. What do you all think? Is there a way we can support the call for justice for David and others in similar situations?
Hoping for peace and answers for those who loved him.
