Has anyone else been following the James Fleming case from back in 2013? I’ve been reading up on it, and it’s so unsettling how it didn’t get much attention until years later. It’s incredibly sad to think about all the loved ones left with unanswered questions for such a long time. He was tied to some serious stuff going on in Homewood, but that doesn’t make it any less tragic.
It seems like his case is just one of many caught up in the complicated web of violence in Pittsburgh. I can’t even imagine how frustrating it must be for families, knowing their loved one’s case might be linked to something bigger yet remains unsolved. It’s so disheartening to see how often people don’t come forward with information, possibly out of fear—understandably so, but it leaves so many families without closure.
I truly hope for some breakthrough, not just for James’ case but for all the others that have been left unresolved in the area. Peace to his family and others who still wait for answers. Would love to hear thoughts or any updates if someone’s more in the know.
Hi everyone,
I've been following the case of James Fleming, and I can't help but feel deeply for his family, who have had to endure so much in the wake of his tragic death. One aspect that's been on my mind is the role community cooperation (or lack thereof) has played in preventing justice for James. I'm curious how we, as a community, can address the fear and distrust that stops witnesses from coming forward in cases like these.
It's understandable that people might fear retaliation or have a general mistrust towards law enforcement based on past experiences—especially in neighborhoods with ongoing criminal activities. But without the voices of those who might have seen or heard something, the scales of justice remain tipped and cases go unsolved.
Does anyone know of successful community programs or initiatives in similar neighborhoods that have helped bridge this gap? Are there ways we can encourage dialogue or foster trust, not just between community members, but also between them and the authorities? I believe any effort could be a step towards finding justice for James and all victims of unsolved crimes in Pittsburgh.
Thank you for any insights you can share.
Stay safe,
