Does anyone else find it odd that Anthony was seen walking in the opposite direction of his usual route to school? It makes me wonder if he might have been lured or was planning to meet someone. Given that he was supposed to turn north on Fremont, what could have made him head the other way? Those details about the rusted vehicle and unidentified man give me chills. Also, if he did have an intention to meet someone, it seems strange because he seemed happy after his 4-H win. Could this person have something to do with the ribbon or the 4-H event? It's like there's a critical piece missing about who had access to him outside of his family and school circle. Any thoughts or ideas on people he might have been interacting with?
Does anyone else find it strange about the unidentified man Tony was last seen talking to? If he was seen in either a rusty Ford Pinto or Camaro, what does that tell us? I know, back in '83, those cars weren't uncommon, but it seems like quite a distinctive detail that someone else might remember. I’m thinking there’s a possibility this guy was local, maybe seen around the neighborhood before. Did anyone ever check other nearby schools or events to see if a similar vehicle was lurking? With Tony being such a regular around the area, it must have been someone he didn't see as threatening or recognized. Maybe canvassing the car clubs or old repair shops might jog someone’s memory? I just find it odd no one recognized that car, given how much he's been missing for so long. Thoughts on how we can dig a bit deeper into this car angle, even after all these years?
Did anyone else find it odd that the school didn't notify Anthony's parents when he didn't show up? You'd think they'd at least call home, especially since it was a routine for Tony to check in with his mom after school. It makes me wonder if schools back then had different protocols for notifying parents about absences. Or could this detail potentially indicate something more about the timeline of events that day? It's frustrating how many small things might've made a difference in this case. Thoughts?
