Has anyone else been following the Calvin Doswell case? It's been really frustrating to see how little progress has been made over the past years. I feel so deeply for his family, having to live with this uncertainty and the shadow of what happened in Wilkinsburg looming over everything. It's odd to me that even with witnesses at the scene, there haven't been any significant leads—or at least none that have been made public.
I understand that fear can be a powerful silencer, especially when it comes to community dynamics and the potential revenge that can come from speaking out. But I wonder if any new technology or cold case review strategies could help out here. It seems like revisiting these cases with fresh eyes or new techniques could offer some hope. Anyone have thoughts on what might break this case open? It must be so tough for those directly impacted to not have that closure. ?
I was reading up on Calvin Doswell’s case again today, and I can’t help but wonder about the community's role in all this. It seems like despite having multiple witnesses around at the time of the shooting, there hasn’t been much cooperation with the police. I get that people might be scared or want to keep to themselves, especially if there are gang or drug activity concerns, but it’s so frustrating. This poor mother had her son taken from her just steps away from her home.
Is there anyone from Pittsburgh or familiar with the area who can shed light on what things are like around Oberlin and Stranahan Streets? I’d love to hear from locals who can give some insight into why cooperation’s been tough. Any thoughts on how communities can balance fear with doing the right thing in these tragic situations? It’s so important for the family’s sake to at least try and piece together what happened.
Hey everyone, I'm hoping to spark a conversation about Calvin Doswell's tragic case from 2013. I read that the suspects who attacked him were wearing red and gray hoodies, which seems like a detail that should stand out. It’s surprising to me that with such specific descriptions and witnesses around, the investigation hasn’t led to any breakthroughs. Is it possible that people in the area might feel intimidated or scared to come forward?
I can’t begin to imagine the pain Calvin’s family must be experiencing with so many questions left unanswered. It’s even more frustrating knowing that this might have influenced later violence, like the Wilkinsburg shooting. Do you think improved community relations or protection could encourage more people to share what they know? It feels like someone out there must hold a piece of the puzzle.
