Has anyone looked into the circumstances surrounding Johnny Spears' release the night before Benita disappeared? It just seems suspicious to me. If he was in jail and then released right before she vanished, did anyone question why or how he got out at that specific time? Could there be any potential connections or oversights in the release process that might shed some light on the situation? Just curious if there are any theories or information on this aspect. It's so frustrating that the case has stalled for so long.

I just recently started looking into Nita's case. From what I understand the ex husband was released from prison the night before she went missing. Was seen at her house the next day by her mother and was seen driving her car. An article in the local newspaper at the time states he was questioned by Gary PD and released. There is no further information on him that I have thus far been able to find.

In October of 2024 Nita's son Duane posted on a memorial site that he had confirmed that she was deceased, but i have not been able to find any information on when or how that was confirmed. I have wondered if his father actually may have confessed??????

Has anyone else looked into the logistics of Johnny being able to get access to Benita’s car so soon after his release? Something about that timing has always seemed really off to me. Wouldn't there be some sort of record of him contacting or meeting her that night? Also, wouldn’t the police have checked surveillance around the parking lot where the Oldsmobile was found? It's eerie how the car just reappeared like that, almost like someone wanted to make a statement or leave a trail. I know this case has been cold for years, but sometimes revisiting small details can lead to breakthroughs. What does everyone else think?
