Hey everyone, I can't stop thinking about how this happened so close to Derrick's home. Living on the 1600 block of Rowan Walkway, it's not hard to imagine that he would have felt somewhat safe or more relaxed in his own neighborhood. It’s unsettling to think that someone might have targeted him where he should've been in familiar territory. It's sadly all too common to hear about people being hurt near their homes, which is where they should feel safest. I really feel for Derrick's family, having to grapple with this loss and the constant question of "Why there?" I hope that someone out there who knows something can step up and share what they know with the authorities. Derrick's family deserves some answers and closure. Is there anything we can do as a community to support them and help keep the momentum going in finding justice for Derrick?

Hey everyone, I've been following Derrick Young's case for a bit now, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that he was shot so close to his own home. Living in the same place where such a tragedy occurred must be incredibly hard for his family and neighbors. It’s just so unnerving to think that this happened right outside in what should be the safety of one's own community. It makes you wonder if the attacker was familiar with the area, or if Derrick was targeted for some reason. We know that detectives have been working hard to piece everything together, but it’s been tough with the case still unsolved after all this time. I can’t begin to imagine how agonizing it must be for Derrick’s family, living with all the unknowns and longing for answers. If anyone remembers something, no matter how small, it could really help bring some clarity. Let’s keep Derrick’s story alive and encourage anyone with information to step forward. Maybe we can bring a little peace to his loved ones. Stay vigilant and safe, everyone. ?
