Has anyone else been perplexed by the timeline in the Robert Wykel case? I was going through some old news clippings and realized there's this odd gap between when Robert disappeared and when his Mercedes-Benz was discovered at the Park and Ride. It's almost three weeks later. I can't help but wonder about those three weeks. Did the car just sit there unnoticed the entire time? Could someone have moved it there shortly before it got towed? It's strange because a car sitting in a busy lot like that seems like it would attract attention sooner, right? Maybe investigators looked into security footage from the time (if it existed back then), but it might not have been very fruitful. Just seems like another frustrating piece of the puzzle—one that might provide some clues if we dig into it. Thoughts?
Has anyone else noticed the intriguing detail about Robert Wykel's passion for classic cars? It's worth discussing because it might provide more context into the circumstances of his disappearance. Wykel was obviously knowledgeable and likely trusted his instincts when buying classic cars, so it's strange to me that he would potentially be lured into a dangerous situation during a transaction. Was there something different about this particular Thunderbird that made him willing to take more risks? It's just puzzling how a savvy car enthusiast could find himself in such a predicament.
Also, how did Wykel, apparently mindful of his finances and transactions, end up carrying such a large amount of cash, and why wasn't anyone immediately suspicious after he went missing with it? Figured I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has theories or insights—we know cash deals are common for car collectors, but $5,000 is a significant amount. Maybe there was something unique about this deal?
Has anyone else been following the Robert Wykel case? I’ve been doing a deep dive on it lately, and something I can’t wrap my head around is the diamond situation. Myron Wynn showing off a diamond supposedly belonging to Robert seems like such a careless move for someone who could have been trying to cover up a crime. I mean, wouldn’t he think that might lead back to him eventually? It just seems odd to be so blatant about it. On another note, I always wonder how thorough the search was of the area where they think Wykel might have been taken. It's been so many years and still no trace of him! Does anyone know if there have been any searches organized by locals or detectives since Wynn’s conviction? It feels like this case still has so many layers to uncover.
