I've been thinking a lot about the community's responsibility in cases like Donte Dawkins' and Divine Barrett's tragic deaths. The neighborhood heard the shots, and there were even officers nearby at the time. It's chilling to think about how close law enforcement was and yet how far away justice still seems. Why are we not seeing more witnesses coming forward? Are they scared, distrustful, or maybe both? Pittsburgh has a troubling pattern here, and it's devastating to see how many families are left without answers, especially among Black victims. Donte and Divine deserve better; their families deserve some peace. I wonder what more can be done to bridge the gap between the community and police to foster cooperation. It's a difficult situation, but nothing changes if we don't talk about it. Thoughts?
