Does anyone else find it strange that Patrick left behind his rifle when he disappeared? Considering he was an avid hiker, it seems like something he would have taken if he intended to go on a long journey or survive in the wild. Yet, he opted to walk out into the freezing night with literally nothing. This makes me wonder if maybe he didn’t plan on being away for long, or if he wasn’t intending to leave voluntarily at all. Could it be that the absence of the rifle might suggest a possible abduction scenario, or is there a chance he planned something we're not seeing? I get that most signs point to a troubled mind, but it's the missing pieces like his rifle that keep pulling me back to wondering if there's more to this story than what it seems on the surface. Thoughts?

Has anyone looked into the possibility that Patrick might have taken an unconventional route if he was heading to Texas? I was reading about how some people who like long-distance hiking end up taking trails or paths that aren't well-known or are off the beaten path. Since Patrick was an avid hiker, it's possible he might have decided to go through remote areas, avoiding major roads or hitchhiking routes. I wonder if there are any hiking trails or wilderness routes that align with a path from Idaho to Texas. It might explain why there hasn't been much else found—especially if there's been any wildlife or natural causes that could have affected the search efforts. You never know, something might have been overlooked if everyone was focusing on more populated areas. What does everyone else think?
