Hey everyone, I recently came across the case of Bethany Leanne Markowski, the young girl who vanished from Jackson, Tennessee in 2001. Something that's been bothering me is the timeline and Larry's account of events. It's odd that he mentioned she went into the Old Hickory Mall alone and he'd expect her to spend around two hours inside. I find it hard to believe that any parent would feel comfortable allowing an 11-year-old to go shopping alone for that long, even back then.
Has anyone else dug into more details about Larry's past or behavior prior to this trip? I'm curious if there's been a deeper investigation into his background. It just seems so strange that security footage didn’t even show her entering the mall. Did anything else about his story stand out to anyone else? Whether we like it or not, looking at every angle might be the only way to find Bethany or at least get closure for her family.
I'd love to hear what everyone thinks or if anyone has info they can share!
Has anyone else looked into reports about the Old Hickory Mall's security setup around the time Bethany Markowski went missing? I've been curious about why the footage showed nothing of her entering or leaving. I understand some cameras may have been malfunctioning or had blind spots back then. If so, could someone have taken advantage of these gaps to avoid detection? It's unsettling to think that there might be a chance she never even made it into the mall, and I wonder if this line of investigation has been fully pursued by the authorities. Also, how busy was the mall that day? More people around might mean more witnesses who could have seen something. I wish we had more info on these aspects to try and piece together what might have really happened.
Has anyone else seen the recent discussion about the timeline inconsistencies in Bethany's case? I find it so puzzling that Larry mentioned he waited for two hours before going into the mall. Two whole hours! ? As a parent, even a half-hour feels like eternity if my kid's just running an errand or something. Maybe there's an explanation we haven't considered, but it just keeps nagging at me. Maybe he was just waiting in the car, distracted by something, but it still feels off. Anyone else have thoughts or insights? It just feels like there's something crucial missing here.
