Does anyone here recall if there was a sighting of Milton "Gill" Helms around the time of his disappearance in 2004? I know it's been almost 20 years, but I feel like there were scattered reports of him being seen after June 9th, though I can’t seem to find any solid sources confirming that. Could those have been credible leads, or just people getting mixed up due to his unique appearance—like the tobacco-stained shirt and noticeable limp? It seems strange there isn’t more evidence given his distinctive look. I wonder if there were any camera footage or eyewitnesses from around Burkett who might have more info but never came forward. Anyone else digging into this angle? What’s the general feeling on whether he might have tried to make a new start elsewhere versus foul play?

I've been following Milton Gill Helms' case for a while, and one thing that stands out to me is his beard and how he walked with a slight limp. I’m wondering if anyone else thinks these physical traits might have made him more recognizable during his travels. Anyone in the Burkett area (or perhaps nearby towns) ever remember seeing someone matching his description around that time, especially because he was so distinctive-looking? I really hope more people from back then can recall something, even a small detail. It just seems so strange that he vanished without leaving a trace. The mention of him having no plans to leave adds another layer to this mystery. It feels like there's got to be more to it!
