Hey everyone, I came across this case about Derreck Sherman, who was tragically killed in Portland back in 1983, and I've been thinking about the yellow 1979 Chevrolet Camaro that was seen fleeing the scene. It's such a distinctive car; you'd think it would stick out in people's minds, right? Especially back then when it was probably a cooler, more noticeable model. Has anyone heard if the police did a deeper dive into car records or registrations from around that time? It's a unique enough car that maybe someone who saw it will remember something, even years later. Seems like it could be a crucial piece of the puzzle—knowing the owner might lead straight to the shooter or at least uncover more details about what led to Derreck's murder. It’s just so awful to think that Derreck's family and friends have gone all these years without answers. I really hope the right piece of information comes forward and this case finally gets solved. If anyone has any leads or memories they think might be helpful, reaching out to the Portland Cold Case Homicide Unit could make a real difference.
