Hey everyone,
I've been digging into the tragic case of James Edward Henry, and there's something I can't shake off. Does anyone else find it odd that despite being in a busy area, there seems to be a lack of solid witness accounts? It was the evening of August 1st in Portland, and you'd think there would be more people around. I wonder if folks were just too afraid to come forward or if they thought someone else would do it. It's incredibly sad to think that James spent his final moments in such a public place but still with such little clarity on what really happened to him.
If anyone knows someone who might have been in the area back then, it might be worth reaching out. Sometimes it's the smallest detail that can turn things around in these cold cases. My heart goes out to James's family and anyone who knew him; it must be so difficult not having answers after all these years.
Let's hope we can shed some light on this and bring justice for James.
Stay safe, everyone.
I recently stumbled upon the case of James Edward Henry from 1987, and it’s really got me thinking about the different lives people lead. James was known as a handyman in NW Portland and spent years contributing to the community in his own way. It’s disheartening to think that someone with skills and a willingness to work could end up so vulnerable.
Does anyone know if there were any efforts from local businesses or residents to help James or individuals like him back then? I wonder if Portland had any support systems in place for folks living a semi-transient lifestyle during that time. Sometimes, it’s the overlooked aspects of someone’s life that can provide clues or context. It makes me reflect on how much community support can play a role in preventing tragedies like this one. Any insights or historical context on community help during the ‘80s would be appreciated. ?
