It's been 32 years since Robert T. Duncan was tragically taken from his loved ones, and it still weighs heavy on the community's heart that his case remains unsolved. I came across something interesting while digging through old newspaper archives. There was a mention of Robert being well-loved by the students and teachers at Sunnyside School. Can you imagine the impact that would have had on the children who found out their friendly school custodian was murdered? It must have left a mark on those kids who looked up to him. There's also the detail about the heavyset woman seen fleeing the scene. It seems odd that no one has come forward with more information, given how noticeable she might have been. I wonder if anyone has ever revisited eyewitness accounts or tried forensic re-evaluation with today's technology. I just hope Robert's family sees the justice they deserve soon. It can't be easy living with no closure for all these years. If anyone reading this was around Portland back then, maybe you have an old memory or detail that could help. Even the smallest piece of a puzzle fits somewhere. Stay vigilant, and maybe one day, the person responsible will be brought to justice.
