I was revisiting some cold cases and came across Johnnie Williams’ story again. It's so difficult to imagine the pain his family must still feel, not knowing who took him from them. I noticed that his case was part of a larger initiative by Tulsa PD to revisit these unsolved mysteries. Has anyone in the community noticed new media coverage or investigative documentaries popping up recently? Sometimes these can reignite public interest or jog memories. Wishing peace and strength to those who knew him; hopefully, someone out there holds the missing piece needed to bring closure.
Hey everyone,
I've been digging into the Johnnie Williams case from 1972, and something that's been bothering me is the location where his body was found. It's mentioned that his body was discovered in a field east of 1800 North Mingo, Tulsa. Does anyone here know if that area was significant back then, maybe a known hangout or if anything else notable happened there around that time?
It’s puzzling that there's so little to go on even though it's been over 50 years. I keep thinking that someone out there might remember something specific about that site or the surrounding area during the time Johnnie was missing. Even the smallest detail can sometimes make a huge difference in cold cases like this.
Sending thoughts to Johnnie’s family who must still be carrying the pain of losing him. Staying hopeful that one day there’ll be answers.
Appreciate any insights or memories anyone might have!
Thanks!
There's something really haunting about unsolved cases like Johnnie Williams’. I was reading about the discovery of his body and it’s hard not to think about what he might have experienced in those final moments. I really feel for his family. It must be incredibly difficult not having closure after all these years. I wonder about the possibility of any overlooked evidence or if someone out there remembers something that seemed insignificant back then but could be crucial now. It’s good that the Tulsa Police are still encouraging tips and keeping this case alive. Hoping someday, somehow, justice is served for Johnnie and his loved ones finally get the answers they've been waiting for.
