Has anyone here ever come across cases where the remains never turn up, and yet the families find some peace? Myron Alberding’s case from 1973 has me thinking about how incredibly difficult it must be for families when there's no closure. How do people cope with the endless uncertainty, especially when the search efforts, like the extensive dive operation in this case, come up empty? It’s been decades now, and I wonder if there’s ever been new technology or techniques that could potentially change the game for unresolved cases from so long ago. Would love to hear from anyone who’s familiar with this kind of situation or knows about advancements in search and recovery operations.
Has anyone else been diving at Seventh Lake recently? I went there a couple of weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about Myron Alberding. The water is incredibly deep in some areas, and it made me wonder how challenging it must have been for the divers back in 1973 without today’s technology. It seems like such a vast area to search, especially when visibility can be so limited. I've been reading up on side-scan sonar, and it feels like something like that could potentially make a difference if they ever decided to revisit the site. Just curious if anyone has thoughts on this or knows if there's been any talk of reopening the search with modern equipment.
