I've always been intrigued by cold cases, and Phillip Sheridan's disappearance is one of those stories that just sticks with you. I was reading up on ocean currents in the Delaware area, and I can't help but wonder if they played a role in why he was never found. From what I saw, the currents off Bethany Beach can be pretty strong and unpredictable, which would make any search efforts incredibly difficult. Also, I was thinking about the boat's mechanical failure. If the engine had issues and the cover was removed, it's possible Phillip was trying to fix it, which might have led to an accident. Has anyone looked into the boat's maintenance history or if there were common issues with that type of boat during the 70s? Could it be something more than just an unfortunate accident? Just trying to piece it all together because it's been so long, and someone out there might remember or know something that could give his family answers.
