I’ve been grappling with this case for quite some time, and something really sticks out to me. Considering that the sisters left a note about babysitting but were actually attending a party, do any locals remember if this party was a regular hangout spot for teens back in the day? I mean, could it have just been a cover for them to meet up with people, particularly that unidentified teenage boy? I wonder if there was something more going on at these gatherings than what was commonly known. Does anyone recall hearing anything unusual or suspicious about teenage hangouts in Mesa around that time? Maybe this spot was known for pushing boundaries, which could have put them in an unexpected situation. Any insight or memories from folks who were around back then might shed a new light on where to look next.
