Has anyone here looked into the Akron Park angle of Duane Robert Talmon Jr.’s disappearance? It always struck me as interesting that he mentioned meeting a friend there that day. Did they ever identify or track down this friend? Considering the time frame and circumstances, it seems like a crucial lead that might have brought about new insights if explored further. I wonder if this was ever fully investigated by the authorities or if it remains a loose end. Any locals from around that area remember hearing anything unusual or have thoughts on this detail?
I've been doing some research on old missing persons cases and came across Duane Robert Talmon Jr.'s story. What really grabs me is the detail about North French Road where Thurman confessed to burying Duane. Despite the searches, nothing was found. I'm curious if anyone knows more about the area back in the '70s or even the '80s. Was it developed as much as it is now? It just seems strange that after such a detailed confession, they couldn't find anything. Could there be something about the terrain or area that might have affected the search? Or has anyone heard about similar cases in that region where remains were difficult to find?
I’ve been reading up on the Duane Talmon case, and I’m really curious about the time Michael Thurman confessed to the murder in 1986. It’s puzzling why it took so long for him to face conviction, which didn’t happen until 2003. Does anyone know if there were new developments around that time that prompted witnesses to finally come forward? Or was there something specific about the investigation process that caused such a lengthy delay? It seems so bittersweet for Duane's family since they got some justice but are still left without answers about where he actually is. Thoughts on why the search near North French Road didn’t yield anything? Maybe someone familiar with the Buffalo area could weigh in if the terrain might have caused difficulties in locating the remains?
