Has anyone else been curious about Michael Scott McLaughlin's decision to switch from art to liberal arts right before his disappearance? I find it really intriguing and kind of odd timing. Switching majors is a pretty big deal, especially since he was already in his junior year. Why make that change so suddenly? Could this decision have been a result of stress or something else happening in his life at the time? It's just strange that someone would make such a big life change and then disappear soon after. Maybe there's a clue hidden in that choice that wasn't explored enough by investigators? Just thinking out loud, but maybe his college life had more going on underneath the surface. Thoughts?
Wasn't McLaughlin's disappearance really odd in terms of timing and his financial situation? I've been thinking about how he was carrying around so much cash, about $3,000, right? Back in 1975, that was a considerable sum! It puzzles me that none of it was ever used, not even his checkbook. Surely, someone would have noticed him spending or even trying to tuck it away somewhere. Given what we know, it makes you wonder if he intended to start a new life, but why leave all his personal belongings behind? Also, I'd imagine walking around with that kind of cash might've put a target on his back. Still, after all these years, we don't even have definitive clues pointing to robbery as the cause. It leaves a lot of room for speculation. What do you guys think? Is this about money, or is there something more personal going on? Would love to hear your thoughts!
