I've been digging into Geneva Verneal Adams' case from '76, and something that's puzzling me is the choice of the drop-off location. The idea of being dropped off at a doughnut shop on Highway 61 at 4 a.m. seems odd, right? Especially given that it was such an early hour when most places would've likely been closed or nearly empty. Was this shop a known hangout spot, or was it just the only thing open at that time of night?
If anyone from that area can share what Highway 61 was like back then, or if the doughnut shop had any significance, I'd love to hear more. It might give us a clue about why Geneva ended up there and if there were missed opportunities for spotting something unusual that night. Maybe it might tell us if Mills' story holds any weight or if it's another layer of deceit. The more context we have, the better we can piece together that fateful night.
