Has anyone ever looked into other incidents in the Sky Lakes area around the time Eddie went missing? I've read about his case, and it seems so strange that no physical evidence was ever found, especially with such a big search effort. I wonder if there were other missing person cases or unusual occurrences in the same area back in the late '70s. Was this place notorious for people getting lost, or was his disappearance considered unusual even among locals? It might be worth examining if there were any patterns during that time that could give clues, maybe either about the area's ruggedness or if something more sinister might have been at play. Just a thought since his case kind of haunts me with how little there is to go on.

I came across Edward Chester Nye’s case while diving into some older missing person files, and something that caught my attention is how vast and rough the terrain around Sky Lakes is. Having hiked around that area myself, I can say it’s super easy to get turned around, even for someone familiar with the outdoors. The paths aren't always clear, and with how dense the forest is, I wonder if he could have accidentally wandered further than intended. It makes me think about how simple it can be to get separated or lose the trail, especially for a young teen. I hope the search teams at the time really considered those less obvious areas. It's just so unfortunate that despite all efforts, they couldn’t find any trace of him. Does anyone know if they used tracking dogs extensively? It seems like there are a lot of factors at play here that could have hindered finding him.
