Did anyone else find it strange that there was never any mention of Clarence's whereabouts the night Taj disappeared, other than him being "at home"? I mean, given his violent history, it seems odd there isn't more detail about what he was doing, if anyone saw him, or if there was some sort of alibi beyond being at home with Annette. Also, the note Taj left just feels a bit too convenient. It's almost like someone wanted to create a narrative that made it seem like Taj left on his own—even though it contradicts everything we know about his fear of the dark and how suddenly he left. I've always wondered if Clarence being convicted of a violent crime shortly after is more connected to Taj's disappearance than it seems. I'd love to hear thoughts on this angle. Could there be more to Clarence's story that we don't know?
Has anyone else thought about the significance of the barn that was searched after Taj went missing? From what I've read, it seems like a pretty focused area of interest, but there’s not much info out there about why it was a point of focus. Given how close it was to the house, it seems like it would have been a natural first place to look, especially if Taj had run off or was attempting to hide. With Clarence's background and later conviction, I wonder if there was anything specific that led the authorities to search the barn in detail. Or was it just a routine part of the investigation? If anyone has more insights or theories about this aspect of the case, I’d love to hear them.
Has anyone else been wondering about the note Taj left behind? I've been thinking about how unusual it was for a 9-year-old to write something like that, especially considering he supposedly went out barefoot. Could it have been coerced? It makes me question if it was written under duress or if someone else had a hand in it. The fact that Clarence had a history of violence is troubling, and I can't help but think that someone wanted us to believe Taj ran away on his own. It just doesn't add up for me. Curious what others think about the possibility of the note being staged to deflect suspicion.
