Has anyone else been thinking about the role Child Protective Services might have played or could have played in preventing this tragedy? It truly hurts to think about sweet Lilianna and what she endured. From what I understand, there were previous signs of abuse that the family might have been aware of. I'm just wondering if CPS ever got involved or if there were any reports filed before this all came to light. It’s so hard to comprehend how this could happen. It seems like there were missed opportunities for intervention. I can't help but think of the responsibility of all those in a child’s life to step up and protect them. This case is such a grim reminder of how important vigilance is in preventing child abuse. Sending thoughts to her two siblings — I hope they're in a safer environment now.
