Has anyone looked into the possibility that Ross Crane might have left on his own accord? I know it's been over 40 years and the idea might sound unlikely given all the media coverage and community interest, but sometimes people feel trapped in their circumstances and choose to disappear. Did he have any financial troubles, personal issues, or reasons to start a new life somewhere else? It's a small town, and maybe he sought a fresh start. Not dismissing any other possibilities, just wondering if this angle has been explored and properly ruled out.
