Hey all. I've been diving deep into the Neal case lately, and one thing that's been bugging me is that unsecured apartment door. Englewood back in '83 wasn't known for rampant crime, but it still seems odd, right? Why leave the door ajar? If Neal wasn't the one to leave it open, who did? I keep thinking maybe she knew the person and felt comfortable enough to leave it unlocked—or perhaps something happened as she was coming in or out. It's these small details that make you wonder. Anyone have insights into crime stats or common practices back then in Englewood regarding things like that? Was it a community where folks felt super safe leaving doors open?

I’ve been thinking a lot about Neal's lottery ticket. It’s so odd to me that she didn’t scratch it. I mean, it’s such a routine little excitement, getting the ticket and scratching it off, just hoping for a lucky break. She had it with her take-out, purse, and everything else, yet she didn’t take a moment to check if she’d won. It makes me wonder—did something happen before she got the chance? Did someone interrupt her quiet lunch at home? It's like she dropped everything mid-moment. If anyone has thoughts on why she might not have scratched it or theories about what could have happened after she got home, I’m all ears. This detail really sticks out to me.
