Hey everyone, just wanted to chime in with something I've been pondering about Kirk Quintons' case. I've seen several posts detailing the timeline and the search efforts, but what really sticks with me is the role of the community back in 1983. Does anyone here have any insight or lived experience from New York City during that time? I've read that neighbors and local community members were quite involved, helping search the parks and putting up flyers. It's just so intriguing—and frankly, pretty moving—to think about how a community could come together like that even before the age of social media and widespread technology. I wonder if there are still people around who remember participating in those efforts or if any local events are held in memory of Kirk. Would love to hear your thoughts or memories if you have any.
I’ve always found the case of Kirk Quintons particularly perplexing. I came across an old article mentioning something about a sighting in a park nearby shortly after he was last seen. Has anyone else heard about this? The article suggested that someone thought they saw a boy matching Kirk’s description playing with an unfamiliar adult. It wasn’t mentioned in the main investigations or reports from what I can tell, but I wonder how seriously it was considered at the time. If anyone has access to old local news archives or has family from that area who might remember more, it could be worth digging into. It’s heartbreaking that the trails seem so thin after all these years. ?️‍♂️?
