Has anyone else noticed how strange it is that Linda wasn't reported missing immediately, especially given the circumstances? I get that family issues can complicate things, but a whole week went by before anyone alerted the authorities. That's a critical time lost in any investigation, especially back in 1983 when technology wasn't what it is today. I wonder if someone close to her had other reasons for delaying the report. It makes you think about how different things could have been if she was reported missing right away. Does anyone know more about the family's dynamic or what they thought about Lou back then? It's unsettling to think someone could just disappear like that and slip through the cracks.
I've been thinking a lot about Linda Jean Crites' case from 1983, and there's something that's been sticking with me. The argument she had with Lou just before she went missing is such a red flag. I know couples argue, especially when going through a divorce, but the fact that she was never seen again afterward is really concerning. It's interesting how Lou mentioned he left her door closed the next morning, but there are no details on whether he checked in on her that night after the argument or if anyone else saw her alive that evening.
I'm also curious about her relationship with other people in her life at that time. Did she have anyone she could reach out to if she felt unsafe or someone who might have seen her after that phone call with her son? It just makes me wonder if there's more to the story that might have slipped through the cracks back then, especially with the family discord delaying the report. I hope more people come forward who might remember something.
So I came across the case of Linda Jean Crites and something struck me about the timing. Over the years, with so many missing person cases, I've noticed how holidays seem to be a frequent backdrop. In Linda’s case, it was right before Thanksgiving. I can't help but wonder if the holiday timeframe might have influenced the sequence of events. Maybe a heightened stress level due to the holidays? It makes me think about how people under stress might act differently. Could this have factored into the argument Linda supposedly had with Lou that night? It’s just another piece of this puzzling case. Anyone else notice patterns related to holidays in other cases?
