Has anyone else been following the case of Richardo Lupercio and Denise Rodriguez? I was just reading about how they were on a double date when they both fell at Sutro Baths. One thing that keeps tugging at me is the condition of the guardrail. Does anyone know if it was found to be faulty or poorly maintained at the time? It's such a haunting thought that two young lives were lost in an instant. I can't imagine the agony their families have been through, especially without closure from not recovering their bodies. Also, does anyone know if the other couple with them has ever spoken publicly about that day? It must have been equally traumatic for them, and I wonder if they had any insights or memories that weren't shared initially.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to bring up a detail that might not have gotten enough attention surrounding the disappearance of Richardo Lupercio and Denise Rodriguez. The spot where this incident occurred—Sutro Baths cliffs—is known for its unpredictable tides and strong currents. I'm wondering if anyone familiar with the area might shed some light on just how treacherous those conditions could be, especially back in the 80s. I've read that even experienced swimmers can find themselves in trouble there. It makes you think about the challenges faced during the search and rescue efforts at the time. Were there any significant technological or procedural limitations in place that might have prevented a more successful recovery? If any locals or folks with insights into the area or the historical rescue operations have thoughts, I’d be really interested in your take. Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed how dangerous that area around Sutro Baths can be, especially for young people who might not be aware of the risks? I've been reading through the old case of Richardo Lupercio and Denise Rodriguez, and it just hit me how something as innocent as leaning over a guardrail could turn so tragic. It makes me wonder if there have been any changes or more safety measures put in place since the '80s to prevent accidents like this one. It’s such a scenic spot but seems so risky given what happened to them. Does anyone know if the city or park service did anything afterward to address safety concerns in that area?
