Ernesto Williams was 24 when he was shot and killed in the early morning hours of January 25, 2008, in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood. Police believe he was targeted while standing near his vehicle. The Bayview area was experiencing elevated violence at the time, and the death was one of several homicides the city faced as officials and community groups worked to curb crime.

The San Francisco Police Department investigated but made little progress because few witnesses came forward. The case remains a cold homicide investigation and rewards have been offered for information that could lead to an arrest or prosecution. Anyone who knew Ernesto or who has information about that night is asked to contact investigators.
