Hello everyone,
I've been thinking about the Alisha Smiley case and wanted to bring up a potential angle. Given that she disappeared while her aunt was just out of sight for a short time, I'm curious about the layout of the Omni International Hotel back in 1985. Was it common to see families sitting on benches in that area, and would it have been easy for a child to wander off without being noticed? Especially curious if anyone is familiar with how busy it tended to be around the hotel or if there were any major events on June 6. It seems plausible that someone might have noticed a little girl if the place was bustling with people. Any insight from locals or anyone who's familiar with the area during that time?
Thanks for your thoughts!
I've been following Alisha Smiley's case for a while, and something caught my attention that I haven't seen discussed much—the location of the disappearance. The Omni International Hotel must have been a bustling place, especially considering it was in the '80s with events and activities going on. Could it be possible that Alisha was familiar with the area, maybe from previous visits? If she had been there before, she might have felt comfortable enough to wander off a little bit, thinking she could find her way back.
I'm also curious about the McDonald's angle—did anyone ever interview the staff there at the time? It's such a seemingly minor detail, but kids can have strong urges for their favorites, like hamburgers. I wonder if they ever followed up on that lead seriously.
I also feel like the mention of her being trusting and friendly suggests a possible opportunity for someone with ill intentions to easily coax her away. It's been so many years, and it's hard to imagine the pain of not knowing what happened to her. Hopefully, someone remembers something, even if it's small, that could provide a clue. Keep her in your thoughts, everybody.
Has anyone else come across the detail about Alisha being seen near the McDonald's? It's such a small lead, but it might hold some clues since kids are often drawn to places they love. Was the McDonald's ever thoroughly investigated for any signs of her or any witnesses who might've seen her that day? I can't help but wonder if there were any employees or customers who might remember seeing a little girl matching Alisha's description. With the hotel and the fast food place being so close, it feels like too big of a lead to just leave hanging. Any thoughts on why this angle might not have had more focus?
