Does anyone know more about the wooded area off Route 62 where Catherine’s bike was found? I'm curious if there was anything unusual reported about that specific location back in '85 or since. What makes me wonder is why it took two years for the bike to be discovered there; did authorities or locals normally frequent that area, or was it fairly isolated at the time? Considering its proximity to her home, it seems odd that no one came across it earlier. Also, does anyone know if the area has been searched with new technology or methods since the bike was found? Any insight would be appreciated!
I’ve been piecing together some of the old info on Catherine Malcolmson, and something that's been bugging me is the timeline of when her bicycle was found. The bike was found two years after she vanished, but just a mile from her house off Route 62 in a wooded area. Was this area ever thoroughly searched at the beginning of the investigation? It seems odd that it took that long to find it in an area so close to her home. Could it have been moved there later? Knowing if that location was checked early on might give us more insight into whether her bike was dumped there later or if the search efforts initially missed it. What do you all think?
I remember reading about Catherine Ruth Malcolmson's case a while back, and something that really stood out to me was the discovery of her bicycle two years after she vanished. It’s strange to think that it was just a mile from her home, in a wooded area. It begs the question: did the area get thoroughly searched right after she went missing, or could it have been moved there later to divert suspicion? It seems odd that it wasn't found sooner, especially considering how close it was to her usual route to work.
The fact that her bike was found near Route 62 has always caught my attention. The location could potentially suggest someone local was involved, as they might know that area better. Plus, there was a lot of discussion back then regarding possible links to other cases, like Sarah Pryor's. I wonder if there are any updates or advancements in forensic techniques that might shed a new light on Catherine’s case today. It's been too long without answers, and I hope new eyes on this cold case might bring her family some peace.
