Just stumbled upon this case of Anita "Kim" Tilden from back in '87, and I'm curious about something that's bugging me. Does anyone know if there was any CCTV footage around the area where her Celica was found? I know it's a long shot given the time, but maybe there were some bank or store cameras nearby? The way the car was left seems off to me, and any footage might give clues about who was driving or when it was parked there. This poor woman just vanished, and the fact that the car was found so close to her home but yielded no leads is puzzling. Anyone with knowledge about how investigations back then handled public or business camera footage care to weigh in?

Did anyone else find it odd about how Anita's car was found? The positioning of the Toyota Celica seems really suspicious to me. It was parked crookedly and facing the wrong way, which almost suggests that someone was definitely in a rush or just didn’t care about drawing attention. Plus, the fact that the doors were locked and the keys were missing raises even more questions. If Anita always followed routine, like her family suggests, I doubt she would have just abandoned her car like that unless there was a really good reason. Anyone else think the dead battery could have been caused on purpose, maybe to stage the scene? I wonder if the angle of the parked car or its location could point towards someone familiar with the area, someone who knew she didn't usually venture out alone. Thoughts?
